You have a beuty kids, so, you want travel to Orizaba, Orizaba is a nice place, I'm from Orizaba, well, you arrive a airplane and you will fly to Mexico, when you arrive at the airport, go to the section of ADO and buy your tickets to Cordoba, Ver. This is the best option because the other option can be difficult and is'tn recommendable.
The times to go to Cordoba are many, from 12 hrs to 22 hrs, and the line is for ADO GL, the journey times is around 4 hrs, when you arrived in Cordoba, you can buy other tickets to Orizaba in the ADO and wait the bus but in you want to go quickly you walk to the rigth and would take an AU bus to Orizaba, is confortable than the other bus line to go to Orizaba, the ticket cost is $13.00 but my recommendation is buy a ticket bus on ADO Line to Orizaba is more safe.
When you arrive in Orizaba take a taxi and enjoy the days with your family.
If you want other information about your trip, streets, adresses or wherever you want please tell me.
Sorry for my english but is'tn good.

Hector G's answers was fine until he got to the part about the buses.
First class (Primera Clase) buses are good, but there are two classes above it: Deluxe (De Lujo) and Executive (Ejectivo). Second class buses vary in quality. Some are fairly good, especially in the center and north. Some are bad, especially in the south or in remote areas. There is no such thing as third class. For more info on the classes, go to

Marco Polo is not a bus line. It is the name of kind of bus manufactured by Mercedes. ETN is an executive bus line and very good, but they are not in the state of Veracruz which is dominated by Grupo ADO, a bus corporation that has several companies.
ADOgl, their deluxe division, has buses directly from Mexico City Airport to Cordoba. There are local buses from Cordoba to nearby Orizaba for 13 pesos, but it would be a hassle, especially with kids and luggage. I would take a taxi from the Cordoba bus station. Buy a taxi ticket from the ticket booth near the exit. You tell them where you are going and the sell you a ticket for a set price. You then go outside and the next taxi in line will take the ticket in payment for the ride.

I took a number of pictures at the airport in January and will have some of them and more info on my website in the near future.

Veracruz is one of the safest and most beautiful states of México. One important tip is to never drink tap water. If you or your kids are thirsty buy a Coke or bottle water from a good grand such as "Bonafont (Coca-Cola Co.)".
Travel by train in México is not an option. You should fly to Mexico City or to Veracruz, and if you are going by yourself I would probably ride a coach bus. Buses in Mexico are surprisingly good, just stick to "First Class" and major brands such as Marco Polo or ETN and never ride "cheap" third class buses.
A second option is to rent a car, but the ride will be somewhat long and probably difficult with three kids aboard!
The third and best option, is to fly to Veracruz and ask any of your relatives to come to pick you up there. In your position and specially for the kid's sake, that's what I would do.
Hope this helps!

Mexico City (Ciudad de México) may be the capital of Mexico and an unbelievable city surrounded by grand pile ranges. To see that town you are able to pick the best option hotelbye . The city's spot is definitely breathtaking. Two wonderful snow-covered volcanoes, Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl, tower above it with their more of 5,000 meters. Mexico City also keeps numerous pointers of their past and these are issues that entice the tourists. The defeating heart of Mexico City is Zócalo - the Plaza de la Constitución (Constitution Square) - where in fact the country's first constitution was proclaimed in 1813 and now is one of the very most visited host to Mexico City because it's one of the world's biggest squares. In Mexico City you can also visit: the National Palace, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Templo Mayor.

There are not any disorders and also you and your household may have a distinguished time. I used to be in Bangkok in April/May and the truly crisis used to be at the final day of the protest. Have a distinguished time together with your household , experience paradise and calm down within the land of smiles
