spark plug causes explosion, radiator used for cooling engine, water pump used to circulate coolant, alternator used to charge and help run electronics, power steering pump used for ease of turning, timing gears/belt/chain used to keep timing in line, piston used to move rod, rod used to move crank shaft, crankshaft used to apply power to source. Intake and exhaust manifold used to suck in explosive gases and to discharge gases.
