dose a warrant in chicago allow the police to open any safes in the home? I think they need another warrant to open that. right?

This is a matter to be decided on by the judicial system. I would not accept a yahoo answer if my freedom was at risk.

It depends on what the warrant says which is based upon what they are looking for. If they have a warrant for drugs, they would most likely be allowed to open a safe since drugs may be kept in it. The person whose property is being searched would need to talk to an attorney.

They don't need another warrant. The warrant allows police to search a specific area, for a specific item, and seize it if found. So, just cause you hide something in a safe, it doesn't make the warrant any less valid.

Nope a warrant for the property includes any place in the property that can be used to conceal items
