Depends what part of the world you are in.
If you are in Europe, the Focus is built in Germany, and is an excellent car.
If you are in North America, the Focus is built in the USA or Mexico, and has had quite a few quality problems.

Try a Mitsubihi Lancer or a Honda Civic. 2 of the nicest and most reliable cars that can be modified in that insurance group.;-)

I have a 2000 Focus...I HATE it!!! I had a Honda and I totalled it, and I miss that thing so much. I would not get a Focus. They handle bad, the windshield leaks (it's not just mine, there's alot of them that have been reported that leak...and it soaks the carpet and makes it smell horrible!) and it's just a bad car. I do not recommend it.

i would get a golf 1.6 or a peugeot 207/307 . the VW and peugeouts have much stronger and long lasting engines and the focus is seen too much as a small family car and the others are much more modern and in demand!!

I SUGGEST THAT YOU BUY EITHER A HONDA OR TOYOTA THE FORD FOCUS IS NOT A CAR TO SUP UP. IT IS A FUEL ECONOMY CAR. NOT ALOT OF PRODUCTS ON THE MARKET TO SUP UP THE FOCUS. AND THE ENGINE IS NOT MADE TO HOLD UP LIKE THE TOYOTA AND HONDA
