No you can't catch herpes. I'm a homosexual male and I've never had herpes. The only thing that seems to be catchy, is an ignorant attitude by you. I hope you didn't catch this from one of your bigoted friends. For you I would quit. Quit Today.

there are some nasty answers to this one.OK so your not up to speed in this area.let me assure you,you have no chance of catching herpes just because your boss is homosexual, and not by being in the same room as him.herpes is a catch by contact condition, from both gay and straight people male and female.keep your job, they are hard to come by

At first I thought you were an idiot and I was hoping that this is not a serious question. But then I started to wonder what exactly it is you do. For instance if you are a whore and "your boss" (aka gay pimp) is also your XXX film director and co-star then yes, maybe you should quit.
But if you work at Burger King and your gay boss is actually just the day manager then please just tell us where the resturant is so we can avoid getting herpes from you when you are working the drive-thru.

You have got to be joking. Tell your friend to get a clue, you can't get herpes unless you have sex with the guy. If he's homosexual and you're female I doubt it, American or otherwise. But your bosses sexual orientation is also none of your business, unless he makes a big deal out of it. In which case you could tell him to quit flaming so much. But if you quit, its your problem, not because your boss is on AC and not DC.

anyone who tells you something stupid like that is not your friend (and neither are those people who answered and said yes you should quit). Unless your boss really has herpes, saying that your boss has herpes just because he is gay is completely uncalled for and your friend is a bigot. Do you know if your boss really has herpes or is your friend just saying that with his/her bigoted big mouth? You can't get it unless you have sex with him. IMO, whether he has herpes is none of your business or your so-called friend's unless one of you have sex with him.

Unbelievable how so many people here are so ignorant and think just because a person is gay, he has AIDS or STDs. Such idiots!

This is a joke right? You can't possibly be serious. It doesn't matter what a person does in the privacy of their own home and on their own time. As far as the herpes thing....you have a computer, and access to the Internet, get real and find out the facts about STD's (sexually transmitted diseases) before you ask or post stupid questions like this....grow up!

Your being silly, right? No you don't get herpes by standing next to someone. Herpes is a sexually transmitted disease, meaning you'd have to have sex with someone who has it to get it. And no you shouldn't quit your job. There is no reason to treat this guy any different than anyone else.

I would definitely stop listening to your homophobic friend! You can't get herpes from just being near your boss - you would have to have sex with him to catch herpes (if he actually has herpes!)... the fact that he's a homosexual pretty much rules out that possibility. You're completely safe at your job.

It doesn't sound like a friend at all. You can not "catch" herpes by getting to close to someone. You have to come in contact with it to get infected. Don't worry and don't be so gullible next time.

Uh...your friend is pretty uneducated. You can get genital herpes by sexual contact only, and you sure as heck don't have to be homosexual to have herpes!

There's no reason to quit. One of my first bosses was a homosexual man, and he was one of the nicest guys I've never known.
