I suspect were Bill Gates funding the war, he would run the war like his business, ruthlessly. In fact, there would be no war because Iraq would be reduced to rubble, with no live human-being left.

However, I know that was really not the answer you were looking for, and several others here have given you a mathematical answer. There is another answer: He already is funding the war. He pays the highest tax rate possible. Microsoft, his company has created more millionaires than any other business save for real-estate. Therefore a lot of his employees are paying high tax rates. Anyone than has any investments like mutual funds, probably own shares in Microsoft and/or one or more companies that does business with Microsoft. Therefore they are paying taxes to support the war. Microsoft itself pays corporate taxes.

If Bill Gates or any other business person were privately funding the war in Iraq, it would be over by now and we would have won.
If our government would approach everything they do the way business people do, we would all be better off. Oh yeah and his fortune would grow because I'm sure he would make money funding it too.

Bill Gates funding the war? Interesting idea, what made you ask such a question?

If he were funding it then I guess his fortune would last about 15 months - I think he's worh 80 billion and the cost of the war has been about 60 billion a year.

Stop whining. During WW2 people paid for the war with rations!! You need to study up on what the civilians went thru during that war, maybe you'd realize that you haven't had to give up any of your luxuries for this one.
