celebrities get married, have children or even die.
The coverage on these issues last months and months on end.
I find it gets annoying. What's your opinion ???

No all it is, is a normal person but since they do a boring job of football or walking down at cat walk or staring in a film then the media take notice when all it is is a normal persons life. The media should focus on more important issues such as the environment or other global issues.

In my opinion, this whole celeb obsession is like a disease that will never be cured. Since when do we concentrate on others lives that we forget that we are capable of doing the same activities in our own lives: going to work, meeting people, having children, etc. I think people have forgotten what really is important and they look to celebs - much like gods - for help with their daily, boring lives because they have no guidance.
It's a shame that we care about people who seem to have it all and not focus on our own lives to make it better. It's sad that Anna Nicole died but what did she really do then pose nude in magazines and marry a billionaire - next inheriting his money.
Coming to conclusion, I think people's standards/values have dropped to an all time low when they considered Hollywood gossip more important than what is really happening in the world. Take for instance, I bet if you asked a person to name ten U.S. states and name ten celebrities that they wouldn't have any problems naming the celebrities.

OMG i know, it is sooo annoying, like with the anna nicole smith thing, every time i turn on the news she is in the head line. Enouph already, it gets old really quick and it also makes people not watch what ever news channel it is on cuz nobody wants to hear about it!!!!

They're in the public eye. We all know these people. I agree the news does do over coverage on these happenings but it's what most of the public want to know.

I think it deserves one in depth report on the topic. They don't need to run the same thing again and again unless something major happens related to it (for instance, if I a baby is born and then they discover it is fatally ill or something).

yes. especially with anna nicole smith. i was sitting down to watch the news. (that actually matters) and i turned on the tv and there was coverage of anna nicole smith on like the channel i usually watch! so then i switched to another channel.. and guess what??!! it was about ANna nicole smith!! arghhh.... she is famous for being a playboy model so we should give her tons of coverage... I THINK NOT!!!

i find it annoying as well. anna nichole for instance some people are trashing her on the radio. its not worth anyones time to hear about it.

I couldn't care less, I'm always so surprised at all the media coverage. i am sometimes saddened when one dies.
