Both names have an American Origin. I was surprised when I did a search that only 10 boys names had American origin.Didn't seem right.
Mychal (form of Michael)means "who is like God."
Jorell means "he saves"
To me a good ole american name is something like Bob(Robert),Eddy or Ed(Edward),Ted(Theodore),Mark, John(Johnathan), Jason, Greg(Gregory), Tim (Timothy), David, Danny(Daniel)
But I guess these all have Greek, Latin or Hebrew origin.
Oh well. Have fun deciding.

Some good ones are already listed, but I met a gal on a bulletin board who named her son, "BATTLE." I really like it for some reason. It grew on me after a while, and it is DIFFERENT! There will not be three Battles in your son's class! (If it is a boy...)
For a girl, I like COLUMBIA. Before the Statue of Liberty, ....<

Gunnar is very German. Depends on how you feel about Germany. Not exactly american, but, honestly old time American sounding names to me are like Joe, Bob and Billy.

Are my favorites! I think Justice is a great boy name so strong. And, Liberty for a girl is nice cuz you can call her Libby or Lib.
You could always name after your favorite hero. Or, a president or their wife. But, I think value names are great.
