OK, here is auto painting101. First. there are two ways to paint a car. Both ways will involve washing and sanding the painted surface. The difference is this: the cheap way is to mask off all the mouldings, glass, handles, mirrors, lights, trim, etc. and then paint the car. That job can be done for about $1500 in single stage paint, $1750 for two stage (basecoat-clearcoat) and $2250 for three stage (basecoat-candy or pearlcoat-clearcoat). The best way is to remove all the trim and paint the car without anything in the way, just like at the factory. It's easier to put down a super smooth job, easier to buff to a glasslike shine and less chance for anything to chip or peel around the trim. This easily adds a couple of days to the job, so you can figure on adding about $750 to each of the above options. 3 stage candy done right, $3000-3200 depending on the size and type of car.

To have a vehicle professionally painted in a candy colour, your looking between $5k and $8k. Email me or PM me if you need more info on this.
Do not purchase candy colours and give it to a regular body shop, painting candy and painting pearl paints are two completely different methods, and if a painter has not been trained, or does not have the knowledge of how the paint is to be applied, then he/she should put that paint in their gun, as the paint itself is very costly.

I would go to a Paint & Body Shop and talk to any of the painters there to see if they can do it for you on their time off. Or even try Google with key words "Exotic Auto Painting" or something like that.

Just a thought! Try here!
