For once a simple clear cut question..Thank You!
I am American, born and bred, I was dealt this poker hand in life and I'll play it out on this table. Every day I breath in the air and enjoy the freedoms I have, the land I live on, and the friends I have. I may not like or agree with the past or present policies of our supposed "Leaders", but I will continue to have faith in my fellow American Brothers and Sisters, that they will always stand together to ensure OUR freedom and way of life. What a great Country.
" no matter where you go...there you are."

If I had a choice of where to live - it would have to be Charlotte Amalie.
The United States Virgin Islands are a unincorporated and unorganized territory of the United States. The Judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature.
Even though they are U.S. citizens, Virgin Islanders cannot vote in U.S. Presidential elections which suits me just fine.
At the national level, the U.S. Virgin Islands elects a delegate to Congress from its at large congressional district. However, the elected delegate, while able to vote in committee, cannot participate in floor votes.
At the territorial level, fifteen senators—seven from the district of Saint Croix, seven from the district of Saint Thomas and Saint John, and one senator at-large who must be a resident of Saint John—are elected for two-year terms to the unicameral Virgin Islands Legislature.
While the island would still be governed by the United States, it would not be in the middle or the focus of all the crap like on the mainland.
I have been there and the people are down to earth and they help one another. Their slower pace and laid back lifestyle reminds me of the old America before everything became corporate and micro-managed.
Not to mention it is one of the most beautiful places on the face of the earth. Green, lush and tropical with turquoise blue water and beautiful women. Yeah, I could picture lying on a beach the rest of my life with some rum and and a nice little bungalow facing the ocean.
I could forget about war, terror, global warming, politics and live my life for once without stress and the constant political noise!
That would be the ultimate life. Who needs the luxury of gold and oil when you can be full from happiness and live stress free.

Of the places I've been, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Japan are places I would rather live than most places in the U.S., with the exception of the weather (which compared to California, where I live, is rough), but it is mostly based on the fact that being educated in the U.S. is highly, highly prized in those countries. I have been offered comparable salaries in those countries, coupled with a much, much lower cost of living. The end result would be living like a king. The more you travel, the more you realize that the rhetoric about America being the greatest is not based on much substance, other than illogical patriotism.

This is the not the USA anymore. It is the United Nations and no one speaks English because we are making it easier for immigrants to get free grants and down payments for mortgages and new business ventures.I feel like a stranger in my own country. Do you know how many times I hear immigrants saying they hate our country and us. I am sick of their attitudes. Stated last time go back to your own country if you don't like it here.
I was feed up and complained to Congressman Michael Ferguson and state first, second and third generation Americans should have first choice. All he did is give me double talk and never answers emails. Yet when voting time comes around these Congressman want our votes.

I would love to live in Switzerland for a at least one month. Then I would love to return to the United States, for the rest of my life, but without the threat of war.

i love the opprotunities this country has... but recent events(the last 8 years) have shown me that maybe this isnt where i want to be... especially after living abroad for a little while... there are far more open minds outside the country borders than inside.... unfortunately.. cause i think this is a great country... just need some help... so i guess it would be both... work here and help out 6 months a year... and 6 months a year... live somewhere in the EU...
