I have two pot holders that have magnets built in so you can hang them on the fridge or any other appliance. They are filthy but I don't know if it is safe to put magnets into my washer and dryer. Do you know if this is safe? If not why?

You can wash them with no problem. I wouldn't dry them on hot because they may stick to the sides of the dryer and get too hot. Dry them on low or just air dry them.

I think it s safe to wash and dry them, you have to heat magnets above 176° Fahrenheit (80° Celsius) before they lose their magnetic properties.

Here are some setting about your dryer: On a low setting the exhaust temperature should average in the 120-125°F range. On medium the temperature should average 130-140°F and on high 140-155°F, depending on the dryer s design.

So you shouldn t have to worry!

You can wash them, dry them on air or less heat, they will get way tooooo hot to handle, even for a pot holder!!!
