I haven't begun ovulating yet and I am on day 13 of a 24 day cycle. If I ovulate in the next few days, is it too late to get pregnant?

I have been using an ovulation kit. Each day it has been negative.

Anything less than 10 days is called a luteal phase defect. You can still conceive--the egg gets fertilized--but it doesn't have a chance to implant into your uterus and gets "washed away" when your period starts.

The luteal phase (the time between ovulation and menstruation) needs to be at least ten days long in order to maintain pregnancy if you do conceive during your cycle - a shorter time frame doesn't allow for the fertilized egg to implant properly in the uterus before the lining begins to shed.

The most common "fix" for this problem is a progesterone supplement. Your body naturally produces progesterone after ovulation, but the supply dwindles toward the end of your cycle, triggering menstruation. Ask your doctor if a progesterone cream might help extend your luteal phase. (And if the prescription stuff is too pricey, check a local health food store - I buy it at GNC for $12 a jar, and a jar lasts forever.)

Best of luck to you!

If your lutal phase (time between ovulation and period) is usually longer you may just end up getting your period late. If you don't know how long it ususally is then keep track for another month before starting to worry. If your lutal phase is under 10 days then you should go to the dr.

How are you tracking when you ovulate and when did you start doing so? If your using anything but charting your temp it might just have not been acurate for this month.

How do you know you haven't ovulated? I would suggest using an ovulation kit and talking to your doctor about this. You doctor could give you advise on what to do. I am sure there is a positive outcome for this it may just take you longer to get pregnant. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ovulation is the release of an egg.
A period, is your body expelling the egg.

How do you know you didn't ovulate?

Also, when you ovulate, IT IS THE BEST TIME TO GET PREGNANT.

Well your period is the outcome of a egg not being fertilized and it would not hurt you if you did not ovulate to close to your period
