Ultra sounds are usually not right when it comes to weight. We thought my third son was well over 7lbs. and he was only 6lbs. 8oz. when he was born - three weeks early because we induced so he wouldn't be so big.
My second son was measuring about 4 weeks early the whole time I was pregnant and he came out weighing 8lbs 12 oz.
That is why we induced my third! He would have been between 9-10lbs if he had another 3 weeks to grow.

Don't let some of these scare you! The tech is probably pretty accurate in saying Feb. 28. The due dates are always a guesstimation! Right now, according to your Feb. 28 date which would be 40 wks., you are 38 wks. (not 36) and full term. Would the doc. consider inducing next wk.?
Can you put your hand between your bust and your stomach? Have you had a show yet? Spurt of energy? Has the doc said whether your cervix is thinning yet? Dilating?
Just relax! Everything will be fine!
Good Luck and congratulations!

It has not happened to me, but things can be made to prepare for situations like this.
The baby will come when it is good and ready.
If the baby is a 10 pounder and you are still 2 weeks out from the estimated date. You might wanna bring up the possibility of wanting a c-section with your doctor. Some people have too much trouble delivering a 10 pound baby vaginally.
And for all we know, your baby may be older then you thought, and is really at the 39 week mark!?
Won;t know until it is time to deliver :)
Good luck. I personally would look at the option of a c-section when delivery time comes.

When I was 37 weeks I measured 42, dr's ran the same test, and moved the due date to the following week. Baby measured 7.5lbs at that time. Well to make a long story short--I had to be induced at 42 weeks, measuring at 45 weeks--and baby was 8 lbs 13 oz---beg for a c-section is my advice--soon

I was in the same boat with my son, they thought he was 10 lbs at the time i was 9 months, but he came out 7lbs. even though i was huge and it was because all the fluid. you can always ask to have further exams, like an amino and maybe be induced.

They told me my first baby was 5lb with seven weeks to go and he was 7lb9oz at 3 days early. My second, the midwives kept saying it was a big baby and as my sister gave birth to a 10lb 4oz i was getting worried but he was only 8lb 12oz and that was 9 days over.
They usually make the baby a bit bigger than it really is.Don't worry whatever the size it'll all be forgotten as soon as he or she is in your arms, good luck.

It is a possibilty the EDD is wrong. However if your really trust your OB then just be thankful your are healthy and the baby is too and that everything is good.
The way it sounds if all is right you will just have a large/healthy baby
