Location of Firefox password file (signons.txt)

Encrypted usernames, and passwords on Windows systems are stored in:
%userprofile%\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\signons.txt

Is signons,txt there?

Is it in the recycle bin ? If so restore it

Your passwords are intact. All your web services will still work. Just now, Firefox won't fill in the passwords for you, you have to type them in yourself.

If you were depending on Firefox to remember your passwords for you, then you just found out why that's a bad idea :( You'll have to go to each web site and follow whatever procedure they have for "Forgot your password?" Good news is, this happens often enough that it's fairly straightforward.
