The important buttons are red to tell people that they are important. They can see them a lot better. Would it help if u had a purple button?

The first answer I agree with to show there are important but not just every button are, in a car the sign to show the battery is red, but you are right

cause it like putting a sign on a button that says " DON'T PUSH THIS BUTTON". in all they really want you to press it.
most of the important buttons are not important at all they want to mess with your head is all, but the ones that blink red means that you can be in pain after this.
so if it doesn't have a blinking light just press it and see what happens...

Red is the most eye catching colour of all and it demands attention. Its the only colour to have a measurable galvanic skin response (it makes you sweat). That is why all danger, warning and important signs and buttons are red.

It's a primary colour and it stands out more than any other. That's why red is used for the most important things, red traffic lights, road signs etc You can see red over and above anything else.
That's my theory anyway...

just so you can instantly notice them- but I wouldn't say for danger becuase my mouse button on my laptop is red-ooooooooohhhhhh so dangerous.lol
