There is a small Military Order of the Knights of Windsor which performs some ceremonial role at Windsor Castle but the vast majority of knights in the UK do not have any special responsibilities. New lords affirm an oath to come to parliament and give counsel when their Queen summons them but there is nothing similar for knights.

Holders of hereditary titles do, but the meritorious titles awarded by the Queen to the likes of Elton John and Paul McCartney have no obligations whatsoever.

They have no official standing and do not represent the Queen at a formal function.

Not so much.

The knighting given to an entertainer makes them a knight/warrior about as much as the skull and crossbones hat I have from halloween makes me a pirate.
