that happened to me, I took the HPV shot and i had no clue i was pregnant. My boyfriend was happy i was having a baby and i was too. Come to find out that the baby had a slow heart beat (about 2Months) and that i was likely to have a miscarriage, still born, or the baby would be abnormal... i had to do what was best for me and the baby. I know it sounds selfish but i had to get an abortion. I felt bad but i think i couldn't live with my baby being abnormal... or going through the whole pregnancy and then my baby is dead. it's a hard decision you have to make it for yourself. I know i am happy with my decision.

that is a decision that only you can decide, but i will tell you that when i was about 20 weeks pregnant with my daughter they told me that she had a 7 % chance of having downs and she was born perfectly healthy, so i would have to know how certain that you are that the baby will be abnormal, and to what extent. But the final decision must be made by you and your family.

I went thru this with my first pregnancy. I was told at 18 wks that my daughter had Turner's Syndrome, which could cause developmental problems, she would have to be on hormone therapy her whole life, more than likely wouldn't be able to have children and possibly would have physical abnormalities. Even though I knew I would be faced with a life of hardtimes and my daughter would have a lot to overcome, I decided that I would keep her no matter what.
Unfortunetly, God had other plans for my little one and her precious little heart stopped beating 4 wks later.

Most abnormalities can be worked around (ie, schooling, teaching, abilities, modifications to the home, etc).

Life threatening abnormailities are harder to decide on.
I would keep the child, simply because you can still give that soul a good, loving life even though it is only for a short time.

Better to have and love, then to never have had at all.

that's a hard situation. It guess it would depend on the extent of the abnormality, i would want my baby regardless but we don't live in a world where everyone has that option. I would look into organizations of the abnormality for help.

Wow, well that all depends on if the baby will survive and have a healthy life. No one can make that decision for you. What kind of abnormality with it have?? Something it can live with, actually have a life?

Absolutely keep it. Nothing in the world could make me change my mind.

Besides, doctors are sometimes wrong. How awful it would be to know I aborted my child that I thought had a problem and it turned out to be perfectly healthy!

I've heard many people say that special needs children teach them such wonderful lessons with their gentle and innocent spirits. Don't they deserve a chance just like a healthy child?

Yes I would keep it. When I was pregnant I was told that my baby was positive for spina bifida and my husband and I were faced with that decision. We decided that we would keep it and then we did the amniocentesis and found out that our baby would be fine. We were going to keep it either way and now we have a healthy baby boy

Of course I would. And if I found out my 3 yr old was "abnormal", I'd keep her, too. No matter what, it's still my baby!

well, it really depends. in general i am against abortion, but my sis knew someone who was pregnant with conjoined twins that were connected from the forehead down to their stomach. they had no way to breath or survive at all out of the womb. they ended up aborting them. in that case i think it would be almost silly not to. but if it's just the fact that they may not have a limb...or even a debilitating abnormaility, but still functional i would most definitly keep my baby!
