Name you top FIVE anime in order of how much you like them, and give good explanations as to WHY you like them!

I just want to see what people like and why they like the anime.

Also; how old are you, do you like anime or manga better, what was the first anime you ever saw and how old were you and when you saw it was it English/Japanese/Japanese with subtitles and did you know it was anime, and do you prefer English, RAW Japanese or Japanese with English subtitles?

I'm seventeen, I like anime (better) because I like watching stuff better than reading (except Harry Potter), but I like manga too because of it's better and longer plotlines, Sailor Moon was the first anime I ever seen, I don’t remember how old I was, it was in English, no I didn’t know what anime was when I first started it, and I prefer Japanese with English subtitles.

5. Full Metal Alchemist: Great storyline. Great characters. Great anime. That really sums it all up for me.

4. Sailor Moon: First any I ever seen. That should pretty much explain it. Sailor Stars was the best season. ^^

3. Elfen Lied: Can I say, wow? The graphics and all the gore. I’m really into horror movies, so when I found this anime I was thrilled. The more gore, the better. It was my first horror anime and I’m glad I started watching it. It has amazing characters, an amazing story and lots of gore. Love it!

2. Naruto: Fillers and English Dub aside, Naruto’s a pretty good and intense anime. Plus, this is the anime I first started liking yaoi from. Thanks to a friend. -.-;; Putting that aside, once again, amazing characters and storyline. (Almost) all the characters are likeable, except for those few that aren’t, and it’s just... awesome. And I totally can’t wait for the fillers to end (in two days). Waiiii~ I can’t wait to see the new Naruto episodes!!! Oh, and Naruto-kun, Sassy-chan (Sasori) and Deidara-kun are all so CUTE!!!!!! On a side note, I HATE THE ENGLISH DUB!! If I hear Naruto say “Believe it!” one more freaking time, I’m going to SCREAM! Thank god no one’s holding a gun to my head and forcing me to watch it. I’d just be like... ‘shoot me now.’

1. Fate/Stay Night: Best effing anime EVER. Seriously. This anime surpasses all the other animes I’ve listed and that I’ve seen. First, I fell in love with the characters... before I even started the anime... then I decided to check it out, hearing that it, unlike the game it was based off of, was clean of hentai. Once I did, I couldn’t stop. The characters, detail, story... and EVERYTHING about it was simply AMAZING. I recommend it to EVERYONE who likes anime.

Hey, I'm 13 and I like manga better than anime (sadly). I first anime I ever saw was Salior Moon when I was 7 or 8 (I regret it now). It was in English and I didn't know it was an anime. I perfer watching Japanese with English subtitles.

My top five animes:

5) Whistle!-This is a sport anime. I'm not really interested in these kinds of anime, but this one really caught my attention. I thought that it would just be about playing soccer and kick and kic, but it wasn't. It was about determination, perseverance, and real life. You get to see the main character interact with his team mates postitivly and negativly and some guys are really hot!

4) Busou Renkin-I love this anime because it's really interesting with awsome fighting scenes! Also, it's by the author of Rurouni Kenshin. The art is great and Muto Kazuki, the main character, has a great personality that makes me like him and lets me enjoy the series even more. And (omg!) the story line includes Homunculus!

3) Daa! Daa! Daa!-This anime is very funny and entertaining. I would always laugh when I watched this anime. Although the art looks sort of babyish, it has an interesting romance/comedy plot that intruges you. It's about an alien baby! The series is really cute because you can see the guy hide his feelings from the girl (and likewise).

2) La Corda D'Oro-This anime was simply beautiful! The music is soothing and soft and the art is gorgeous! The story could use some work, but it's still great. The main character is not a perfect girl; she works hard to get what she wants...and she succeeds greatly. There are romantic elements in this story, but they are woven well...and there are so many hot guys that you don't know who is gonna end up with the girl! And the girl is not some baby and weakling, she can stand up for herself and defend herself, both phyically and mentally.

1) Ouran High School Host Club-This is my top anime...and there are so many reasons why. Haruhi Fujioka, the main character, isn't a weakling or wimp; she can defend herself and help out anyone who she wants. She's a 'I-couldn't-care-less' girl who does what she wants (which are always good things) and doesn't care about the fact that she is poor...and goes to school with rich people! There are lots of hot guys in this anime and my favorite is Tamaki! He's so funny and dramatic...and he can be serious when he needs to be. He's the leader of a host club. Haruhi's in it too...except she's crossdressed as a boy! This anime is really funny and it always relaxes me like a baby!

**Note**-As you can see, I like romantic/comedy animes. I hope you don't mind. ^^

Age: XX
Anime or Manga: For me, it depends on the series. For example, I would rather read Death Note than watch it, just because I don't care much for the style of the anime. But then for Inuyasha, I like the anime better, as I cannot stand the way the characters are drawn in the manga.
First Anime: Sailor Moon, probably. In English. And I was pretty young.
Preference: RAW or Japanese with subtitles.

{Mine are ordered as 1=most favorite 5=least favorite}

#1: Naruto. What can I say? Naruto has action, a great storyline, awesome characters, etc etc etc. It's unique, funny, depressing, and a little strange (Uh, Lee's eyebrows?) all at the same time. Definitely my all-time favorite anime/manga. (Although I also cannot stand the dub at all. Seriously.)

#2: The next four are hard. Second, I think I'll have to say FMA. I've only recently watched it and I LOVED it. Especially because the anime and manga are so different, they're like two completely different stories for you to follow. Ed and Al are just so likeable and .. well, adorable, and the "villians" are really peculiar and different. Awesome.

#3: Ouran Koukou Host Club (maybe? Seriously, this is too hard for me.) I don't care much for shojo anime/manga, sticking mostly with shonen. But Ouran was HILARIOUS. Each and every episode was a different adventure. Really addictive and fun to watch. Never really got interested in the manga, though.

#4: Hikaru no Go: What to say.. I was hardly expecting an anime/manga about a board game to be interesting. The ending was horribly sad, but the whole show was really fun and just.. great. Original ideas always go far with me.

#5: _____________. Insert Bleach, Samurai Champloo, or Inuyasha. I can't choose. Actually, 2-5 are probably all tied for me. Sorry. D:

OK- I am way older than all of you. The first anime I can remember watching is either Kimba the White Lion or Speed Racer I was around 8 (that should give you an idea of my age). I had no idea it was called anime. It was in English. The first anime I saw recently was Pokemon. When my son started watching it. My daughter brought home Fruits Basket last year, Japanese with English subs. I was hooked!

1. Bleach- love the characters and plot line HATE the English, love the Japanese subbed, like the Manga
2. Twelve Kingdoms- Japanese Subbed love the graphics, and storyline is interesting.
3. Fruits Basket- started it all, cute and fun
4. Ouran High School Host Club- just fun and silly
5. Black Cat- I've only read the manga- different than the other titles, darker, great characters

I prefer to watch the Japanese version of the show with English subtitles, I would love to be able to speak Japanese and watch RAW. I like the Manga, but it is so expensive to purchase and a bit inconvenient to read on line.

Hello I am Gatz 1000 and I am currently 19 years old. As a beginning anime watcher I prefer the anime over the manga, the only manga series I read is Bleach. Sadly to say the first anime that I saw, like many of you, was Pokemon, in english of course, when it first aired. Over the years my taste for anime changed for the better and one thing is for sure I prefer Japanese with English Subtitles over the dubbed version any day, the only show I watch like this is Bleach and some Naruto.

Now time for the list ( ranking from 5 to 1, 1 being the best anime in the list)

5) Trinity Blood - Ok at the beginning of its run but the pacing is all off and the action could use some inproving. I still watch this show but just to pace the time.

4) Yugioh/ Yugioh Gx - Yes I watch both of these shows and enjoy every minute of it. I prefer the original yugioh over its gx counterpart but both are great in the character roles, storylines, and visuals. English versions of both of these shows.

3) Yu Yu hakusho - Just like Naruto, I recently stumbled onto this show and instantly fell in love. The characters, storylines, and the visuals are what do it for me. I currently watch the english version but one day I will get into the subbed as well.

2) Naruto - I recently stumbled upon this show and now I can't get enough of it. The characters, storyline, and the visuals are what caught my eye. I am currently watching the 3rd season. Watch it whenever I can. Mix of dubbed and subbed(prefered)

1) Bleach - I like it due to the deep storyline, the complexity of the character, and just the overall look of the show. I watch it in subbed form.

Well that was a hand ful but fun none the less.

I'm 14, going on 15, and I'm not sure about whether I like anime or manga better. I'm partial to both. The first anime I ever saw was Yu Yu Hakusho, and it was dubbed English. And yes, I knew it was anime. I prefer English, but I don't mind Japanese with English subtitles.

1. INUYASHA!!!!!!!!!
I just love this anime! It's got laughs and action. My number one reason to love this? SESSHY!!! He is the most smexilicious bishy ever to walk this earth. Get it? Got it? Good.

2. Naruto
What's not to like? It's hilarious, and the story is easy to follow. My brother rented the PS2 game once, and he had a lot of fun with it. The characters are also very easy to draw and there is so much fanart and so many fans, that, to tell you the truth, it's a common topic of talk between me and my friends!

3. Ranma 1/2
This is the most hilarious thing I have ever read or watched. I absolutely love it and the plot is great! The characters are amazing, and you never know what's gonna happen next.

4. Yu Yu Hakusho
Not only are my friends amazingly obsessed with this anime, the story is great. The characters may be few, but they're so likable and this anime is a frequent topic of yaoi since Kurama and Hiei are said to be a really good couple. Sure, I don't mind yaoi. It's hot. ;-)

5. Azumanga Daioh
THIS IS EFFIN LAUGHOUTLOUDANDCRAPINYOURPANTS FUNNY! I crack up so hard everytime I read this! I love the characters and Kiyohiko Azuma is a brilliantly funny genius.

Of course, I love many, many more, like Pokemon, Fruits basket and such. I so totally wish Pokemon were real!

ANIME AND MANGA RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi I'm 23 years old and I love anime and like manga. I first got turned onto anime with a movie I saw when I was way too young to remember the name of it but I remeber it was a young boy fighting demons, after that it was gigantor. As far as my top five animes go it's a list that is ever changeing. But here goes:

5)Tactics: I only have the first 2 volumes of this one so far but I love it, it has demons, ogres, priests and demonic marionettes, what more could a boy want. I also has some strong humor and some underlyeing yaoi themes, i really can't wait to see more of this one.

4)Tehnjo tenge: I would probobly have ranked this one higher except the story line moves so slowly, I feel like they stretch 1 episode over 3 episodes, and I'm not very patient. On the plus side however i really enjoy the animation style and the characters are so over the top its insane and I like insane, oh and because Takayanagi(propobly not spelled right) is hott.

3)Full metal panic: This show is fantastic, it has mechs and guns and a girl who kicks major butt with a paper fan, perfection. The characters are briliantly designed the scripts are hilarious. and just to clear things up I am encompasing all of the incarnations with this selection, I hope this one is around for ever

2)Akira: I know its super old and all but you can't beat a classic and this one is a beauty. Its story genius its animation unique and its characters are some of the most "
alive" Ive seen since i started watching anime. Oh and the boys are hot... sorry I'm shameless but hey.

1)Project A-Ko: What can I say this is the best anime i have ever seen and I think I will ever see. It got me obsessed with anime when I first watched and I love its characters and its humor. Not to mention it has a school girl that could totally break superman in half. I just really cant describe how much I love this anime. If any of you get the chance to see this if you havent I urge you to watch it, you won't be sorry, it has everything.

Well my top five didn't leave room for any manga so I will just name my number one "legal drug" from CLAMP it is one of the best yaoi/psychic drama comedies i have ever read and it is beautiful just like anything from CLAMP.

#2 - Fullmetal Alchemist, It is such a heart warming and emotional anime, such a great story line. I just love this series.

#3 - Basilisk, Has great action in it, with the sweet young love. I really enjoyed watching that series.

I rather watch the anime instead of readin the Manga, for me watching the anime I can get into it and see what the characters are going threw more deeply then if I read the Manga.

you expect me to even LIST them all, let alone in ORDER???!?!?? impossible!!!!! I luv Princess Mononoke, DN Angel, AIR, Fullmetal Alchemist, DN Angel, Fushigi Yuugi, and SOOO many more!!!!!! if i HAD to list them, (ANIME, not manga). I can't describe why i like all of them, but Princess Mononoke was the BEST anime MOVIE i have ever seen, and one of the first good english dubs that i have heard. lots of action, not at all what the title suggests, and the soundtrack is BEAUTIFUL! (if u have not seen it u NEED to!). FMA because, well, it's funny, it has action and drama, suspense, anything you could want in an anime! AIR (i think there's only a japanese version, though. i watched it on youtube) because the art it really pretty, it's sort of mysterious, it's very sad and yet it makes you smile, and the music rocks! Fushigi Yuugi, well, i like the art, japanese version acting (though Miaka's voice sounds WAY to high and kid-like!), the music, i LUV the plot, it's great!

1) Princess Mononoke
2)FMA
3)AIR
4)Fushigi Yuugi
5)other stuff. DN Angel isn't on my top 5, but i like it!

the first anime I ever saw was the english dub of Pokemon (hey, c'mon i was 6 years old! i had to start SOMEWHERE!). i didn't know it was anime (i didn't know what "anime" was! shame on me!) until i was 7, a year later.

i prefere manga, i love to read, plus instead of the risk of crappy acting, you can just enjoy the made up voices of the characters in your head. also, in anime, they tend to change the art a bit, in the manga it's much better. like Fushigi Yuugi. the BEST manga i have EVER read! i love the art it is SOOO pretty!!!! I stopped being an Inuyasha fan because of the crap they call it's anime version.

i prefere the original Japanese version with English subtitles, since i can't understand much Japanese (i know a bit, though)
