My baby is due in July, so I'm working on decorating his room. This is a print that I stumbled across years ago. I'd like to know what the majority of you think of it. It's called, "Watchers in the Night", by Thomas Blackshear, II. See link below...

The baby's room is a nice medium shade of blue. The room is also going to have a lot of bright, kid like decorations in it. We're having a touch of Noah's Ark theme through the room.

i agree its a nice print...im indiffrent about a babys room. because it is a little dark, but also he might be used to it an not think of it as scary, just as long as it isnt the only realistic thing in the room so it doesnt "stand out". you know what i mean? if everything else is colorful an winnie the pooh then you have this realistic print here the baby wil notice an think its not normal, so if you do put it in there try to balance things out so baby gets used to realistic things an not viewing it as diffrent

My opinion is that the print is extremely scary and inappropriate for any child's bedroom.
Paint the room pink or blue, with lots of flowers and cartoon characters.
Find someone not pregnant to help you. A pregnant co-worker once had the whole office decorated in black.... which was as dark and depressing as your canvas print.

That's a really neat print and I like it a lot, but I don't think that your child would feel safe and protected because the angel looks scary. Now I'm certainly not saying that angels always look nice and happy, but a child's room needs to be a cheerful, happy haven. Good luck on decorating!

It's a beautiful print :)
Your baby won't get much out of it because babies respond to primary colors and bold images but having it in the room will likely make you happy and babies always respond to a happy mom.
I had a beautiful print that I loved in my sons room for me to look at when I was nursing him. I also had a picture of my uncle who passed away just before my son was born. I always thought he was watching over my son and when my son went to college, he took his uncle's picture with him even though he hadn't met him. I think my belief transferred to him just as your feelings that perhaps this "watcher" will guard your child will transfer.
I think if you love it, it's a good fit.

It's nice, but a little dark and scary for a baby's room. I can even see my 2 year old being frightened by that. But it's a nice print depsite all of that.

I like the picture, but it seems a little heavy for a baby's room. What you could do is order a small print so that it doesn't overpower the room.

You are correct acrylic is good for the canvas and for lasting. Some of the more expensive paints contain cadmium and other toxic materials and will be bad for the baby. We are not really supposed to get them on our skin when we are painting. See if you can find a kit designed for babies.

it nice but for a baby or small child i think it would scare the crap out of them especially if they were already having a bad dream and wake up to see that then you would get the ear piercing shreek of the night so maybe choose something a little less looming

That would scare me, and I'm 24. Perhaps something a little more light and uplifting would be appropriate for a baby's room.

I think that would be the most calming and peacefull room a baby could hope for. I don't think he'll be scared of it if its already there when he arrives.
