Usually at your 20 week sono. You can't really see the parts of a boy or girl until after week 16.
But... Just remember they are not always right. I had 3 sonograms and they thought it was a girl all three times and then I had a BOY.
I was a pretty cool surprise though except I had all pink things and my parents and husbands parents had to make an emergency run to the store!

At 20 weeks. I think about 19-21 weeks is normally the time the sex of the baby can be confirmed with reasonable accuracy. After this, the baby gets too big, he/she can be curled up pretty tightly making it hard to see (a leg usually blocks the view!).

I found out in the delivery room. I didn't want to know before. I had a dream in which I had a baby boy so I just knew I was havin one. When my daughter was born and they said its a girl, I made them hold her up so I could see. I had to ask them to move the cord so I could see for myself. It was so exciting and fun to have it be a surprise, It was so cool to make the phone calls that said It's a girl. Every one was excited for us. I did it that way 2x and don't regret for a moment not knowing. Also it was fun with all the people you knew and didn't know saying Oh I know its a boy, youre carrying low and things like that.

by 18 weeks we had a pretty good idea we were having a girl but never had a DEFINITE "girly part" shot untill i was 26 weeks. in all the others before....there was just lack of out door plumbing. :) but i have had friends that found out as early as 16 or 17 weeks. good luck to you
