Well, it may depend on what sort of people you are dealing with, or which part of the country you are in, I have no way of knowing how far your scope goes or the other details, obviously. But, I'm in an area close to Chicago, not far from the steel mills, and I'll tell you I was shocked at what I heard at a Union New Year's Eve party this year. I assumed that all these macho dudes from the Union would never support Hillary, for the reason you mention. They're nice guys, but most of them are pretty chauvinistic. Late in the party, when the wives were gossiping and dancing and guys were doing shots and smoking cigars I sat in a corner listening to them talk about politics. I almost fell out of my seat at the number of men who admitted out loud that they thought Hillary was the best candidate out there. I heard the argument you are speaking of, but then others cited Margaret Thatcher as an example of a tough female who got the job done. There is no evidence that having a female President will garner derision or disrespect from other nations who think of women as second class citizens. These countries have had to deal with women leaders in the world before, and their leaders show them due respect and always have. Think about not only Margaret Thatcher, but Indira Gandhi and Golda Meir. I really think it's a fear that is baseless in the light of reality. It's funny, for such a progressive country, we are really behind in acknowledging that women are just as well-equipped to run a country as a man.

America's only hope is to elect a female president! In the eyes of the world, the U.S. is spiralling downward, and needs the steady, patient, non-violent, nurturing of a woman to pull them out of this near catastrophe. Open your eyes and ears middle-America, and learn about the world around you. It does not begin and end with you. You have become a nation with a "me-first" attitude, and it does not become you. Forego the power- seeking, and follow those among you who reach out and help others, whether at home or abroad, without looking for recompense, but purely as an act of humanity. Be strong America! Trust that a woman will be the right choice!!

To say that a women would weaken the nation is sexist.
A man can weaken the nation a great deal more then a women.

As your reference to England, lets go back in history a little.
Queen Elizabeth I was one of the best rulers England had ever seen, there country thrived. However, when she died a cousin was asked to become the ruler of England. H completely domolished the country.

If a strong woman was to when the election then are country could thrive just as if a strong enough man should become the president.
I don't believe that Hilary Clinton is the woman for the job however.

Margaret Thatcher was a strong leader which had her country's best interest at heart, Hillary on the other hand wants to convert the US into a socialist society and have big government in charge of our lives which will weaken this country. This is a free Nation and should stay that way..

Depends on how capable of leading the nation that woman is, just like with men

Are you comparing a woman president to the queen? I think that's comparing apples to oranges.

But right now - I don't see any female candidates that are worthy of holding the office of president. I think that Hillary is weak because she put up with her husband repeatedly cheating. One time - ok - put it behind you - but he did it many times - and the fact that she is still with him means that she is weak in my opinion.

The weakness is not with a woman. It is with another socialist Dem, especially a Clinton. (See Clinton, William Jefferson)

someone who can run the country ought to win. someone shouldn't in any respect be elected, depending totally on gender or race or another shallow reason. If that were the case, i might want to assert, "opt for me!" Heck, i'm a lady. and that i particular might want to apply that presidential paycheck.
