In debate class I was assigned Pro Gay Adoption- which I do not agree with, so its not my easiest topic.... I need information or sites other than wikipedia that give info about homosexual adoption. Also I would love your opinion on Homosexual adoption, pro or anti Adoption, and why.

If a child is in need of a family- love and affection, shelter and guidance...it SHOULD NOT matter whether or not the parents are a same sex couple.

I suppose you would rather these children stay in a foster care or orphanage right? Yes, I can certainly SEE the advantages there....

My opinion is that the perfect family environment is a stable man/woman relationship where one parent can stay home full time. Why? Because each has something to contribute to the development of a child and a full time parent is ideal, no matter what sex. HOWEVER, there are many children out there who are considered hard to adopt, for many different reasons. A good, stable, happy home with gay parents or even a single parent is considerably better than no home at all. I think all these things should be taken into consideration and the child should be placed in the best possible environment.

I can't give you site references as you can search them as easily as I can, but I'll give you my opinion.

I think it's fine. A loving home for a child beats an orphange any day, no matter what the sex of the people in that loving home is (2 males, 2 females, male/female, or couple with other kids already).

Homosexuality isn't harmful, it isn't contagious, it isn't wrong or bad...it's simply how some people are born and happens to be a minority situation and therefore shunned and/or feared as many things are that are 'different' than what the majority does.

I've never heard a valid argument against gay couple's adopting and until I do, I'm all for kids without parents or homes being able to find loving homes with whomever is willing and able to provide them with one.

I think there is nothing wrong with it if there are role models of the other gender available, like grandparents or uncles/aunts. A loving family is important regardless of the parent's sexuality. As long as everything is explained to the child when they are old enough, and the parents are accepting of their child's sexuality whether they are gay or straight or bi,I don't see a problem. Studies have shown that children with gay parents are often more open-minded in general (see source) which i think is a good thing.

I see no problem with Homosexual adoption. Lots of kids need loving homes and I don't think it matters if its a straight home or homosexual home as long as the child is being well taken care of and loved.

Pro because I had only 1 parent & having 2 moms or dads is better than just having 1 regardless if they're your biological children or not. Anyone can be an egg or sperm donor but it takes someone special to be a mom or dad. I really hope your research changes your mind

i think that gay couples are just as likely to make good parents as straight couples, and their bound to give the child a better up bringing than whatever they were born into. i cant really imagine what people would have against it, apart from just the general 'i hate gays' stuff. some one once told me it was because the child might get bullied, but thats a cra.p reason, youd never advise a black couple not to have a child because it might be subject to racism.

Kids need loving families no matter what the parents' race, religion, or sexual orientation is.

I think gay's should be able to adopt.Look at it this way, it gives them one less thing to protest and keeps them occupied.
