In New Orleans,Mardi Gras officially begins on 12th night (Jan. 6th) and ends on Fat Tuesday. The parade season in New Orleans begins 2 Wednesdays before Fat Tuesday with a parade(s) each day. Fat Tuesday's date depends on the date of Easter, which is also different each year.

Hope this is some help! :o)

Mardi Gras is translated into Fat Tuesday, in which we eat alot of good tasting things, most often pancakes. It is one day, Tuesday. It does not last several days because the next day is Ash Wednesday, the begining of the Lent season. Ash Wednesday is also one day, Wednesday. Mardi Gras was yesterday, Febuary 05. So, seing as Mardi Gras is one day, it also ended yesterday.
