Is it safe to breastfeed with breast cancer or cysts? Would cancer or cysts inhibit milk production? Would the baby detect the unhealthy breast and refuse to nurse?

I just got tested today, so I'm still not sure what the lump is. The reason I ask is because my baby weaned himself at 10 months old and I was wondering if the lump had anything to do with it.

I live in kind of a hick town, and the medical care here is pretty bad and pretty behind. There's not enough doctors per people. No, the doctor didn't discuss anything with me really (they almost never do).

I have found some websites that might help you with your question. I do wonder has your doctor not spoken to you about these issues?

Try not to worry! I know its hard but things will probably be ok. I recently found a lump in my breast and I went to the doctors the next day. They were really helpful and sent me straight to get it checked by a specialist. Chances are it is nothing. I hope it all goes well for you. Treat yourself to a nice hot bath and some chocolates, then an early night. Good luck x
