A Magic Eraser would be the best non-chemical way to clean the screen. Since it is an LCD you want to keep away from cleaners such as alcohol based ones. There is special cleaner, but I have found the best thing to be the magic eraser

It's unlikely to be exactly the same, ever again.
Try Windex, white board cleaner, or rubbing alcohol. All of these (especially the last two) can cause damage to a soft screen, so be very careful. If you have hard glass, then these should work fairly easily. Just don't let any drip.

This just happened to me.....toddler got gold if a permanent market and literally scribbled all over my screen....the eraser trick doesn't work but a small amount of toothpaste on a baby wipe removes it....takes a while but works!

Hair spray takes permanent marker off most things, try that.

Have you tried nail polish/makeup remover?
(I was tempted to say if you're writing on your screen then tippex would be a logical choice...)

I've used goof-off before, but some stubborn marks required soft scrub.
