Argentina and Britain's conflict over the Falkland Islands is probably the closest thing there is. Technically, Iraq was a democracy so I think it'd be better to restrict it to 'functioning' democracies.

Check out the definition for "Democracy".

In a somewhat perverted way Hitler was elected and so was Saddam. In fact Saddam was elected with 100% of the vote.

So you tell me.

And if you get right down to it, the United States is a Representative Republic.

Good luck sorting this one out. It could take some time to even figure out what a country's form of government is.

there never was a true democracy any where in the world. even america is not a real democracy.
