Billions of dollars have been pumped into Africa over the last 20 years. What is the result (other than welfare on a continental scale)? There were thousands starving then and there are still thousands starving today. Why? Because there are too many mouths to feed and not enough resources.

Some people say there is enough food to feed everyone. I would like to ask them what we should do with everyone once the world population doubles, then triples, then quadruples. If it weren't for natural controls like famine, disease and natural disasters we would become extinct a long, long time ago.

I would give to any charity devoted entirely to the distribution of contraceptives. That's the only way to prevent famine in Africa and elsewhere.

I care, but first I care about the children that are starving to death over here in the UNITED STATES first! I see all these commercials on save the children, I feel sorry for them, but why am I gonna send my money to them to use for God knows what when I can send it to some needy children over here that can use it first. We have alot of children that suffer the same stuff that Africa children do and it seems that people that dont care about them. How come we dont see commercials wanting to help them?

That is not the only country that deals w/ those problems. There are many countries that are not economically okay, It is sad but if we were to help all the people that need help we would be losing a lot of $. And plus we are losing a lot as it is / Iraq. If it really devistates you, you should look for a donation center and contribute. Every little bit helps.

The problem with Africa can NOT be solved from without. Until they change their system of government, and remove the rampant corruption, there is little anyone can do for them.

We have children dying and starving in America everyday as well. No one seems to care about them either.

Where did you get the idea that no one cares about African kids? Don't you know that President Bush has sent more aid to help Africa than any other President ever?

I don't think that it is that they don't care about people in africa. But that happens here in the United states. Should we fix what is ours first then help. I don't see any other country helping the United States homeless. Do you?

The government of the African states should help their people before themselves, how many children can Madonna adopt and there are people that help the children of Africa.

Research how much money that country is given in grants and loans from the richer parts of the world and then see how much of it actually gets to these people instead of lining the insides of pockets of the rich elite in government over there. Money is sent, how and if it gets to them is down to their government.

The United States also has their share of problems. Lets solve our own first, then look to help other countries...
