I mean a job you've been in more than a year (which started off fine) and one day you just felt you weren't being treated right anymore, so you decided to leave, without giving any notice. Anyone been in this situation?

I have never walked out but I have not gone back either.
I find that the way I am treated at some places should be illegal and there is no way to prove the way people are treated at a work place. Some times I want to scream. I am a over qualified **** worker that does all the **** work that people over me do not feel like doing. I have more experience and education than anyone else here.

But I try to look at the bright side of everything and it really could be worst.

I have. I was at a place for over 3 years, they switched managers, and the loyal employees were being treated like dirt. If you feel like you are being treated unfairly or disrespectful, take it up with corporate. Walking out without notice probably isn't the best idea, but I know how you feel. It's just a job..and you will find a place where you are respected.

Yes. I had been with a company(helped it grow)for more than 3 years. I was the secretary(when secretaries ran the office and actually used typewriters). This company consisted of two "sides" . A personnel agency and a computer software company. When the President decided to physically split the two sides and move to a different space in the large office building, he left me with the Personnel side. The "manager" of that side was a catty, bitter woman. The only way I could work with her, was with the President being within earshot. I begged him to take me with him. He said he needed me to stay in that office, because the Software office didn't afford space for my desk. I put up with this arrangement for about 2 months. The manager was getting increasingly hostile towards me. She was in her late 30's, divorced, raising a teenage daughter, lived paycheck to paycheck and very unhappy with her life. I was early 20's newly married, traveled, didn't HAVE to work and had the world by a string...she hated my good fortune. I never flaunted it in front of her or anyone else. She also hated the fact that the President showed more of an "interest" in me, than her. She falsely accused me of wrong doing. I left one day in the middle of typing a letter for the Pres. He came into the office that afternoon(it was around the corner from his new offices) to find me gone. He called me and begged me to come back, said he had taken care of the situation. I refused....Sorry I've gone on about this, but 30 years later...It still hurts.

No, I've always given notice. However, I did have a job that I quit the first day. I was a teen. And I offered to stay on, but they said "you've been here 1 day... if you're not wanting this job, why bother staying."

You should never abandon a job, unless you are in danger.

Of course. My job was working at Baskin-Robbins. I wasn't planning to give notice, but I was forced into it because my boss made some changes in how he ran the store. He treated me like dirt. Hired someone new and younger then me and bossing me around. gave me a lot of stress. Even though I had no job to backed me up, but I am glad I left.

Yes. It wasn't the job but the boss. I just got
fed up and walked out one day. I tried to look
for other employment but without a car I couldn't
work any shift so I went back to my old job and
smoothed things over with my old boss. I got my job back.

Yes, I just walked out one day, no notice, I hated the job and my boss so much - he was very disrespectful and rude.
It was one of the better things I have done so far in life - I felt free, with my self-respect intact!

2 friends of mine worked at Tim Hortons, baking on the night shift. They were pissed because the manager wouldn't give them the same time off for our friends big camping trip so they decided to quit one night. They baked a very large boston creme doughnut, iced it and spelled out **** YOU with white icing. They then placed in in front of the camera, made sandwiches and left.
Yes, done in bad taste but they were seventeen and it's fuuny when it's not your resume.
