From what you've said Avg seems to have dealt with virus.Delete the file you downloaded - go into Avg vault and remove/delete the virus - update your virus definitions and run a full system scan - also install a good spyware program like Spyware Doctor - If you are going to use limewire learn to watch out for virus's before you download...This can be done by looking at the file sizes, I dont remember the sizes as I haven't used Limewire for a while but look for small sizes that come up a lot for different files...These are usually virus's disguised as other files, the file names change but the sizes don't.....After a while you'll be able to see a virus 99% of the time before downloading...good luck m8 ....
PM me with the full virus name i'll check it out for you....some are relitively harmless and simple to deal with some are F***ers....

Many people just have the antivirus program running in the background and that's it. Auto update generally just updates the virus definitions, you also have to do a manual update of the program and the definitions. Also a full system scan is necessary once a week.
If a manual full system scan doesn't get rid of the bug, it might be necessary to boot from the recovery disk or CD and run a scan from there. This is necassary for some viruses that remain in memory. So you have to turn the machine right off, and do a cold boot from the anti-virus recovery disk.

Don't Panic!
Its OK, limewire has viruses on it... I have been scammed before myself...
Go into the AVG vault and note down the viruses name, then go to google, type the virus's name in and look for a website which will tell you more about it and how to remove it.
Cillit Bang! - and the virus is gone!

Hi there,
To remove virus and protect your pc I strongly recommend Avira. My favourite antivirus software so far (100% free). You can get it here http://bitly.com/1sW45Ef
It's the best choice.

In the vault it will be OK - you can delete it later!
That's the problem with Limewire - I'll also bet your PC is full of spyware and adware!

You have a serious virus in your computer and unless you get it out of your computer it will destroy all your files and will contaminate anyone you send emails too. Unless you know for sure how to get rid of this virus you should take it to a professional to get rid of it.
Good Luck.

Your antivirus program should detect the trojan and after a scan, you'll be able to quarantine it and remove it from your computer.
