i love em, dont watch the show but i like how he treats those idiots on there.
advice for anyone wanting to go on american idol:
if you have the nerve to go on national TV with never taking vocal lessons in your life and are upset because Simon told you how bad you were.... do yourself a favor and hide under a rock until you evolve into something more intelligent.

Simon is awesome. I love him!!!!!
Everyone that gets the treatment from Simon, deserves it. If those people honestly believe that they even stand HALF a chance, they are seriously delusional. And incredibly stupid. Unfortunately, some people think its better to protect the contestants' feelings than to give them a straight answer in no uncertain terms.
Now on the other side of that coin, yeah..... Simon should probably think before he speaks sometimes. (The bush baby comment comes to mind -- although I admit I did laugh my 'you know what' off) But I think giving these people false hope is just as wrong.
Let's not forget, though.... that most of those people probably know EXACTLY how bad they are, they just want to get on TV. In which case, they deserve to be humiliated for taking up the judges time and taking away audition time from those who actually have talent.

Yes, although far too harsh and cocky, Simon is awesome in part because he at least doesn't add to the delusions these poor folks entertain. When he's kind to even those without talent, he is most attractive as a human being. Notice this year there was at least one audition in which Simon was a genuinely nice guy- saying "it was nice to meet you" to someone without singing talent. I swooned. ;P

I agree completely!! Like you said, he's just being honest with people who have no talent. I can't believe those people genuinely think they can sing and sound good. I've known people like that, and they think they can do anything as long as they keep a good attitude. Well, there's something to be said for talent, too. If you aren't born with a vocal gift, you're not going to acquire one. It's as simple as that. And the people Simon critiques just have to understand that.
You CAN do anything - anything within your own ability to do, that is!
Simon rocks!! :)

Lol! It doesn't annoy me in spite of the undeniable fact that it really is truly dated; I keep in ideas human beings getting haircuts like that once Terminator and then Terminator 2 got here out - the "Arnie" flat suitable! perchance Psycho Cowell desires to replace his look somewhat into the 21st century!

Oh my goodness. I do. I absolutely love him. He's so cute, and so god damn honest its almost horrible. He does have to remember that people get hurt easily, and especially since a lot of people think that they are good at what they do so to be nice.
but I guess then American Idol wouldnt be the same.

Yeah I like him, but he needs to remember that some people are majorly sensitive and easily crushed. Otherwise, I think he's got the most "cahones" out of everyone there when it comes to telling the truth.

i love him... he's just blunt and honest with everyone, and hilarious in the process. the try outs are the best part of the show, i think randy has taken a cue from him as well.. he used to be nice to people and now he tells it like it is too
