This hi-fi needs to be setup in the Garage so I want one that wont get damaged because of the cold. I also want one that can play a CD full of MP3's created by Windows XP Profesional. It should be able to play 100's of songs of a single CD. Can anyone recommend one?

More than a high-fi....

You really want a DVD player.
[Then connect it to whatever stereo system you like :) ]

This makes it lower cost and let's you use existing audio equipment you have :)

Just make sure that the dvd player you choose has the MP3 symbol on it... then you can stick in any disk.. mp3 or regular audio and play it....you can get a dvd player for $30 that will do you... Don't worry about the video connections...just connect the audio jacks....plop in the CD with the mp3's..... and hit play!!

Another advantage is... you also get to play movies if you want them when relaxing in the garage!

Now, it you MUST have a all in one unit....
Almost any stereo (hifi) with a DVD built in will do the same task... (Again, make sure it has the MP3 symbol...most likely it will)
