im thinking about getting her some chocolates and the desperate housewives dvd(2nd season is only 30 bucks at target). and maybe bringing home some red lobster for dinner. the only problem is that i dont have a lot of money. should i 1) just splurge and get all three or 2)skip red lobster. maybe she is gonna cook a romantic meal. 3) skip the chocolates and just order dinner and give her the dvd.

You don't have to get expensive chocolates. Most regular chocolates have a Valtentine's variety, like red- and silver-wrapped Hershey's Kisses or Reese's or Dove Hearts. Get the candy at Target, then go to Pier 1 or Cost Plus and get her a cool but not expensive candy dish to hold them.

If you don't know whether she's cooking or you're handling dinner, perhaps you should stop worrying about money and presents and increase your communication. I'm not a big TV watcher so I can't really comment on the DVD. Happy Valentine's Day to both of you!

If you need to skip something, skip the chocolates or find something less expensive than the DVD. Valentine's Day isn't about breaking the bank. You can show someone you love them without hurting yourself financially. Why don't you make dinner instead of buying? The more effort, less money, they better. Good luck!

My suggestion would be chocolates, 12 red roses, leave the movie out because those $30 dollars can be used for the Red Lobster dinner and I think that would be perfect, Oh, don't forget those 3 words. :)
