I have on of the 1st PS2's. It's finally gotten to the point where it only plays certain discs. I've fixed it once, but it's now beyond help. I want to get another PS2, but have heard so much about how the new style ones overheat. Has anyone had this issue? And, no, I don't want a PS3. Too expensive, and I have a lot of PS2 games, which I've heard many say all of them don't work in a PS3.

I had an old PS2 and it wouldn't play any of the colored disks...I bought one of the slim PS2s and it works like a charm...I too think the PS3 seems too expensive and not worth it...I might get a Wii.

The PS2 that overheated was the plug adapter and it was only on certain ones. We have a PS2 and we bought it at Best Buy with a 2 year warranty. They cover everything for two years and if it breaks in that time period they will replace it. The warranty cost 20 bucks. We still haven't had a problem yet.
