I tried spybot, noadware and changing home page thru internet options. That works for a short time then home page option reverts to "none".

This is one reason I keep more than one piece of security software around. Have you been able to identify the worm? If you have, check out various sites like MS security or Symantec. Sometimes these will have specific removal tools.

If you haven't, the only thing you can do is try various free software until one does identify the problem. I'm surprised that Spybot didn't find it as that is usually pretty good. Sorry I can't be any more help.

(1) Get you self a good antivirus or a free one if your present anti virus is not protecting you .
(2) If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot do that now .Update it and then run it so it gets rid of all the spyware and trojans in safe mode
(3) Do an online virus scan to check if you still have any other viruses in your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .

The problem is that once you clean your system, you can re-infect it when you surf. Most Spyware programs don't have real-time protection like an anti-virus program.

You can however configure Spybot to scan automatically and clean any infections that you do have.

The instructions are at;

They have step-by step instructions and screenshots. This will solve your problem of internet browsers that are hijacked and random popup windows.
