for what reason? I think if you are convicted to death, you should be put to death within 30 days...why waste taxpayer money and space in prison for a death penalty conviction. Also, it makes one hell of an argument as a crime deterrent.

If they are in there for 1-6 years (nothing more), and are on good behavior, then I think they should be allowed to take some college courses. Education is a good way to help people take control of their lives...BUT I think they should be obligated to pay the costs back... like a student loan, but they should have assistance finding a job once they are out of jail.

I don't belive in the death penalty personally. But I believe that if people are going to be executed for their crimes that there bodies should be used to better mankind. Giving them an education doesn't do that. Instead we should be using their bodies for scientific research and/or the things that we use to test on animals. Like testing drugs, social experiments, etc. It seems somewhat cruel but if you are going to let a government kill someone for commiting a crime, you may as well extract all of the use possible from that being.

That seems really pointless. You give someone an education so they can add to the productivity and efficiency of the United States and raise GDP, at least from the Government standpoint. What is the point of educating someone who is going to die before they can do that.

First of all I don't believe in the death penalty. How can we as a society say that killing is wrong when we are actively kill people in the false name of justice. Death penality is not justice it is revenge.
