what are your pet peeves?

mine:

1. People driving slow in the fast lane or carpool lane.
2. People who live in apartments and drive expensive cars (30k+)
3. Overweight people buying junk food at the supermarket.
4. Drunk People (at least when I'm sober)

* People who order Big Mac's with Diet Cokes
* People who write checks at the grocery store but don't start until after the total (because GOD FORBID you know the name of the store you're at or the date or your own name to get a jump start on things)
* People who let their children throw tantrums in public (I would have been in the car so fast it would have made my head spin)
* The word Milk. Just sounds disgusting.
* The smell of crayons.
* The smell clothes get when in storage, see above for reference.
* People who eat cheese like its a delicacy.
* Winos. Wine is for girls, real men drink beer.

1. Racism, in any form. Anyone who thinks they are superior to another human being, solely on the basis of race or skin color is an arrogant fool. Anyone who thinks racism is not still a significant issue is living in denial.

2. People with an aversion to erotica. Men and women have been enjoying erotic art, literature and visual images for centuries, and it's neither unhealthy nor perverse.

3. People lacking tolerance for other spiritual or political views, as if there were room for only one "correct" philosophy.

4. People who feel the need to put the blame on objects, rather than the human lack of self-control (alcohol, other substances, food, sex, etc.).

5. People who exhibit a need to "mess with other's heads." There is something severely lacking in their life if they derive a constant pleasure from annoying or insulting others.

Answer 3

Mine are:

1- People who drive really fast and overtake you, then go slower than you want to drive once they are in front of you.

2- People who smile and say "isn't that lovely" when you know that's not what they are really thinking (false people...)

3- Men who get "Man Flu", and it's always so much worse than any other kind of flu.

4- Hair in the sink.

5- Men who finish the loo roll and don't bother to change it (My bf...)

p.s: Drunk people??? I think they're really funny, especially when I'm sober!!!

1. Conspiracy Theories (one has to be really off the wall to even write down these things)

2. FRAUD (you know ... those pyramic schemes (where only the top person earns anything), bait-n-switch, any I'm sending you a sum to cash and send me the remainder back via your bank check, etc etc etc)

3. Deadbeat Parents complaining about their arrearages, or ways to avoid paying their fair share (I have personal experience with a violent, abusive ex who is also a DEADBEAT dad .. and yes, he has many tens of thousands of dollars in arrearages).

4. Those making ignorant comments about the Honorable Service Member (I'm Retired Military, with TWO Siblings still serving).

5. Those bragging about illegal activity/crimes right here on an open forum!

6. Those making RUDE comments about Single Moms (I was a Long Term Single Parent and a Responsible one).

7. Rude comments about folks my age (or older). A little 'snow' on the roof does NOT mean that the person is not as sharp or intelligent as they always were!

8. "Mr./Ms. Special" -- you know, the person in that Huge Vehicle that "Just has to be there FIRST" -- will swerve in and out of traffic, cutting it so fine that a hair could not pass between your bumper and theirs ... and yes, driving off road, then spinning up the junk on the side of the road onto your car as they 'pass' you.

9. Being passed over for service in preference to the clerk serving the male behind me (who actually did arrive after me). Just because I am female does NOT mean I have NOT Earned MY INCOME (For I have -- and yes, I did EARN it!). When I get in a line or near a counter .. I am intending to make a purchase. This includes also the ignorant way some treat female customers as if they do not have a brain in their body ... for I am very intelligent, and yes, that Device I can tear down and put back together myself!

10. Constant focus on ONLY New Orleans (which was NOT directly hit by ANY Hurricane) for Hurricane Damage. I live on the Gulf Coast of Florida .. and we were hit DIRECTLY (my area) by TWO Major Hurricanes within 9 months, plus multiple Tropical Storms AND the outer bands of other Major Hurricanes as well as Minor Hurricanes ... and as far as I've seen -- everything from Biloxi (which was hit DIRECTLY by Katrina) to the entire state of Florida (Ivan, Charlie, Dennis, Jeannie, Frances, Wilma, etc) had NOT even gotten any concern by those big celebrities ... or their 'charities' -- and that is producing a lot of bad feelings in those of us who have QUIETLY accepted the FINANCIAL COSTS of our own rebuilds and renovations -- including tens of thousands of dollars of repairs to our properties that were above and beyond our deductibles. We also know that when a storm hits -- that 72 hour notice is a good sign to already have all our preparations ready, to have evacuation plans in place (and go if we are in those evacuation zones), and yes, we have our generators in place, fuel stored, staple foods in place, and know that after the storm there is a curfew .. and we DO NOT EXPECT a handout -- for there will NOT be any ... we are fully AWARE of our RESPONSIBILITY for our Hurricane Safety/Planning Needs (and as we see -- some continue to expect 'help' or a 'handout'.
