Schottenheimer, who has 200 regular-season wins and no Super Bowl appearances,

Marty Schottenheimer’s postseason record, which stands at 5-12,

I think that is good enough reason.

The reason he was fired was because of this year's mishaps, and those of previous years. Apparently AJ Smith (GM of Chargers) believed that Marlon McCree wasn't coached well enough to know to go down with the ball instead of trying to return it. Critics also believe that a well coached team doesn't commit a devastating roughing the passer penalty on a crucial play in the crucial part, late in the game. Personally, I don't think Marty should have been fired.

Because without Cam Cameron and Wade Phillips, Shottenheimer's got NOTHING! They should have fired Shottenheimer after our loss to New England and made Cam Carmeron our new head coach. Now Cameron is the head coach of Miami, Wade Phillips is the new head coach of Dallas, and we're on the lookout for a new head coach. But word around the camp fire is that JIMMY JOHNSON might be interested! Jimmy Johnson might be tempted to coach a team with as much tallent as San Diego where he doesn't have to spend 2-3 years building a team that is capable of winning a Super Bowl. And with many players on 5 year contracts, Jimmy Johnson might not only win a championship for San Diego, but build the NFL's next dynasty!!!!!!!!!

Because they are complete idiots! 14-2 is a damn good record...but seriously IMO they probably expected him at least go to the Super bowl, if not win it, because of the great season the team had. If you ask me it was unfair but so was the decision by the Cowboys to hire Wade Phillips, should of waited for Schottenheimer!

When you have the best RB the NFL has seen in like 30 some years, the leagues best TE, one of the leagues top Defenses, and a good young QB, the real question is why havent the Chargers won a Super Bowl?

Cause he's a loser. Always has been. Ask Cleveland and Kansas City. He can do great during the regular season, but in the playoffs his teams choke. He'll get another job, hopefully in the NFC, I'm a Bronco fan and I'm tired of his sorry ***.

Because he doesn't know how to win in the post season. he is like 2 and 12...i dont know exactly, but it is badddd. they have good players, they need to find a good coach who can get them farther than a great season and one and done.

no matter what his good record this year was....it all comes down to knowing who is the boss and who isn't....and he forgot who the boss was....so he was fired...

a good lesson for us all to remember which side of the bread is buttered....and the boss is the boss and if we don't like it, we don't have to stay at the job
