police officer or someone. I was wondering if maybe your partner flagged down an officer and asked him to help you get to the hospital or something like that. Or if they were speeding and trying to get you to the hospital as fast they could. I'm just interested in hearing your stories and how you got to the hospital while in labor....Thanks.

No, not even with the false labor, but we lived 5 minutes from the hospital.

My best friend's husband got pulled over by a female police officer for speeding to the hospital while she was deep into labor. The woman (obviously not a mom) told them to slow down and drive safely and that my friend had PLENTY of time to get there. Dumb jerk! And then she just left them to get there by themselves, no escort! My friend wound up barely getting into the hospital in time, she had her son a few minutes after arriving! (By the way, this happened in southern New Hampshire, so I hope you don't live there!)

Nope, no speed racing or flagging down cops. It was after midnight on a Friday night so all the cops were probably staking out the bars for drunk drivers. Hubby did flag down a cop once in the hospital to get me a wheelchair. But, the cop stayed in the waiting room while we went up to labor and delivery.

I wasn't in labor but I thought i was. My husband is a fireman and we have lights and sirens on our truck. He called on the radio to let 911 know and we drove to the hospital lights and sirens 75 mph. Turns out I was dehydrated and had a kidney infection. P.S. when i do go into labor that's how i want to be taken, the hospital had my room ready when i got there.

Nothing like that for me just with my son my husband thought he could do a tune up on the car and then they gave him the wrong spark plug wires so he had to go back to the store to get them and that took like 30 minutes at the store so by the time he got back i was balled up on the bed about in tears because of my contractions being close and hard, he carried me out to the car saying so sorry, i got to the doctors office only for them to say yeah 4 cm bulging bag go over to the hospital, then it took from 4 pm to 2 am for him to come out. With my daughter there wasnt much going on since at 1 am i couldnt sleep or sit still anymore we went to the hospital and had her at like 845 am so he never paniced but i think that was because i was so mellow even when i was balled up with my son all i said was what the hell took so long its time to go so nothing like police or anything like that sorry

We practiced the route we were going to take, and when it was time, he drove me carefully but quickly. You might be able to get a police officer to escort you, but then you'd have to wait for them to get there and that would take longer. Most women don't have the baby the moment they go into labor, so even though it seems like an emergency, you'd probably get there in time by just driving safely.

1st time I was induced so there was no rush.
2nd time was a scheduled c-section, so again no rush.

I saw an episode of A Baby Story on TLC though where they had a police escort, and the dad filmed the whole drive while he was driving. It was hilarious, they barely made it to the hospital.

My wife and I went to the hospital a little faster than usual, it was 3 am. She deliver at 8:21 am, and everything went fine. We had enough time to reach.

No, I was induced. In fact my doctor said,"Do you want to have her on thursay?" I said "Sure!". The labor part was hard, but getting induced was easy!
