We won't know until this weekend...those alternates still draw lots of fans & are exciting players...I think it wil be just as good as any other all star game

No. Not really... In the west's case, there were so many deserving players left off that they really need to expand the roster. Plus the voter showed that half of them don't even watch basketball.. Shaq plays 4 games before the vote and he is a starter? Dirk or Nash not starting over Duncan and T-Mac. Anthony left off when he is the leading scorer? Plus whatever West team is out there will wipe the floor with the East.

making sure these players get the 3 to 5 days off to get their nicks and scrapes together to make a playoff run is much more important than an all star game...besides I think its much more fun to go hang out in an All Star, (super bowl, or world series) city for that week than to watch the game...

How can you ruin a game when no matter who ends up playing, there is no defense, the final score will total somewhere around 350 points and the MVP will be whoever hogs the ball the most.

I am not sure but all star games are for the fans for fun they aren't the most important things ... The Playoffs on the other hand..........

Can't help it sometimes. You'll never know when a player will get injured. Yeah, some big names will be missed.
