I doubt it, not because he deserves it or not, but just because he's up against Clint Eastwood, who's Hollywood's golden child. Personally I'd like to see Alejandro González Iñárritu get it cause Babel was great. I mean, I liked the Departed, but I already knew Martin Scorcese knew how to direct. Let the little guy have it, everybody knows Scorcese's a better director anyway.

I really hope because I saw "Departed" and I thought it was the hottest movie of 2006 that movie had drama suspense and action with a little bit of love making..that movie gets two thumbs up plus two big toes (lol) anyway he deserves it but I think it might go to someone else like the "last king of scotland" or most likely "the queen" lets keep our fingers crossed.

no, he can´t go to the USA. The Academy will never "disobey" the whole thing Hollywood has against him.-
