My p.c is getting really slow will cleaning the hard drive speed it up again?

You probably have so much junk in there that slows down your computer. Disk cleaner will do nothing but give you some more hard drive space by deleting things off the hard drive. Defrag won't make any noticeable difference in speed but you should do it anyways atleast once a month. You have to look for things that are bogging your computer down. Like applications on start up, adwares, spywares, etc. Use msconfig to get rid of the applications on start up. Adwares and spywares, you're going to need a program that will get rid of them such as AdAware. OR you can back up your documents and then wipe out your hard drive by reformatting it and reinstalling Windows or whatever your OS is. Afterwards, buy anti virus/spyware programs or your PC will be bogging down again in no time. Good luck.

Try Windows Clean up it is very good and free. also AD Aware SE is free and cleans up Ad's. Install Yahoo Toolbar this comes with free Norton Spyware. For virus checker use AVG it to is free including upgrades. Windows also comes with System Management tools use them first as they are free as well

start, all programs, accessories, system tools, disk clean up

start, all programs, accessories, system tools, disk defragmentor

that should clear it up, do it maybe once a week. sam X
