No, and there were three Klans the first fought reconstruction and yankee brutality. The Second Communist, Jews, Gays and scattered foreigners. The third well you know about them. That is why I get upset when people say Bedford Forrest started the Klan, he was a founding member only in the first Klan and quit even them.

No he never was. Nathan Bedford Forrestthe founder of the Klan even became so disenchanted and revolted of the direction the Klan took that he quit and disavowed it as it went too far afield from his original purpose.

The KKK was formed several years after the end of the Civil War. Lee died in 1869.
