I feel your pain...I used to have cuticle problems until I discovered how great cuticle oil works. I use Sally Hansen Vitamin E Moisturing Nail & Cuticle Oil....it works wonders. I use it in the morning and before bedtime and my cuticles are in great shape, even in the winter. Hand lotions won't heal or repair your cuticles the way cuticle oil will. Trust me, I have tried! The better your cuticles are, the healthier your nails will be. Anyway, you can find it at most drugstores, Target, Meijer, etc. Good luck!

Cuticle oil will help from getiing these cracks on your cuticles & it will help your nails stay healthy. Use vinegar on the ones you have now -this will ease the pain. But use the cuticle oil as much as possible easpecially in the winter months when everything (skin-nails-hair)seems to become dry because of the cooler climate.

Try using hypoallergenic lotions - something thicker, like Aquaphor (I think that's how it's spelled) you can find it in most drug stores and also, use vitamin E for your cuticles and just apply it liberally and keep up with it - your cuticles might be reacting this way because of the rough change of weather that's been happenning across the nation.

Try using "Cuticle Oil" instead of lotion. They sell this stuff at drugstores in the manicure section.

Try some triple antibotic ointment or Vaseline at night every night for a week. Then maybe twice a week after that. That may help.
I had problems with my cuticles, too, until I tried that.

I don't know why it happens, but I've read that putting some vinegar on them will help. Just dab a little on with a cotton ball and let it air dry.
