One time, when I took a new job, I had to endure an orientation that mainly consisted of my reading a 1,000+ page manual after being locked alone in a little room. I was told I'd be left there as long as it took for me to become fully conversant about company policy. Most of the rules in the manual didn't even relate to the job I'd be doing. Once in a great while, somebody would come by, unlock the door, and start asking me questions about what I'd read in the manual. It was the saddest excuse for an orientation I've ever had to sit through.

Work. Every job except my first ever job which was at a dairy. I have recently gone back to driving buses and I relieve the boredom by watching people run for my bus and then accelerating away......... Hehe. I drink Ovaltine which is how I get off to sleep so quickly!

Sitting in meetings at my son's school.
They are sooooo long and boring, they go on and on so I almost fall asleep (just like being back at school!!), and at the end of them they always say: "We'll be handing round a photocopy with all this information on it."
So WHY did I just sit here and listen to it for 2 hours, if I can read it anyway!!!??? AARGH!!!
(Oh, and hospital waiting rooms...)
;-)

Hi, oddball59,
Sitting listening to a couple of people who where talking about soap operas as though it was real life.
I am not criticising people watching the programmes, just the fact they make it sound like it is real...

church services every sunday as a child ( seemed like every sunday anyway ) On one of these joyous occasions i began rubbing my thumb into one of the floor to ceiling pillars, made good progress and ended up, over several weeks, with a hole the size of a golf ball....that's how boring it was ( no pun intended )
