Anything orange or yellow is good to start with--squash, sweet potatoes, bananas, carrots, peaches, etc.

peds recommend veggies first only cause once they have fruit the will like that more then the veggie. my kids all like the veggies and fruit. they didn't prefer one over the other. whichever you prefer.just be careful because certain veggies may constipate baby such as sweet potato's and corn and good food to give to baby when he is having a hard time going to the bathroom is a jar of prunes or spinach even though i havent been able to find spinach anymore. i wouldnt start until at least 4 - 6 mos depending on the appetite of the baby. and make sure you start out with cereal first. i use the oatmeal because the others always constipated my babies. then mix the cereal with the fruit my kids all ate cereal that way. good luck and have fun

What a great question! Some pediatricians recommend starting with "yellow before green" as it is easier on the baby's digestive tract when adjusting to new solids. Other peds recommend veggies first so that the child doesn't prefer sweet fruits. In the end, it is up to the mother...you know your baby best. I am an American living in Denmark, where it is suggested to first try porridge, such as rice or corn, and then move to potato (later mix in veggies with the potato) and slowly add a little fruit to sweeten the rice or corn porridge before offering fruit alone. I like this method because it slowly adds new flavors to something "safe". I have tried that in the past several weeks with my son, and he seems to like it all so far....Good luck!

Your pediatrician should advise you on this matter but I have found that starting vegetables first makes it easier to introduce something new to your baby. We started with vegetables and then worked into fruit and finally we added different dinners in such as chicken and rice. Now we give an entree, vegis and a fruit with each meal.
Good luck.

I started with bananas. My thought process was that the fruits are sweeter, so he will take a liking to it better. I since alternated between fruits and veggies. Oddly enough my little guy preferred the veggies.

each infant is diverse. you are able to start up little ones on solids (ie-gerber point a million) everywhere from 4-6 months. in case you wait longer than that, you run the possibility of your infant no longer liking textures. If she is doing properly, that's large!! flow with it. My daughter did basically high-quality with each thing beginning at 4 months, and my son had a sprint greater hardship and did no longer incredibly do properly with solids till 5 months. He additionally could no longer have cereal (made him constipated) so he basically ate end result and greens trouble-free-in step together with his pediatrican. via 6 months, the trend that the well-being care provider needed them in grew to become into breakfast , bottle in the previous nap, lunch, bottle in the previous nap, dinner, and bottle in the previous mattress. My daughter gave up the bottle at a million 3 hundred and sixty 5 days and my son is 10 months and he's finished with it. i'd start up point 3's slowly around 7-8 months. yet, in case you think of she's waiting at 6 months, decide for it. i began out the three's whilst my son would polish off 2 #2's and nonetheless be hungry! I probable does no longer do juice till 6 months, then once you do, dilute it with a million/2 water. She incredibly does not choose the greater sugar in the previous then, and being that she's nonetheless taking bottles, she will have the skill to no longer be dehydrated. incredibly-after announcing all that....you comprehend your daughter greater valuable than all people else. you comprehend what's ultimate. in case you have questions, call your pediatrican or ask at her 6 month checkup. There are feeding classes that maximum medical doctors places of work have. sturdy success!!

Start off with vegetables. If you offer fruit first, baby will get used to the taste and might reject anything else. sweet potatoes are a good one to start with and you can also add other vegetables with it to vary the taste. When they're getting used to solids and digesting food, maybe start adding white fish.

Green vegetables first. Babies tend to like sweet stuff - like fruit and the sweet veggies like carrots and sweet potatoes - and if you start those first, you'll probably have a fight when you introduce the icky green stuff later.

It's a personal preference-- my doctor advised me to start w/ fruits because they are easier for the baby to digest. My baby is now 10 months and he eats EVERYTHING--- he did not develop a preference for sweet foods. He LOVES vegetables.
I think either one is fine.

Either or. I started mine on fruits and she loved it and when I tried the vegetables I wore it. You can try giving them a little fruit in the morning and a little vegetable at night.
