Been on LoEstrin for many years and yes it's about 3 days long and very very light!

I just discontinued loestrin. It didn't shorten my periods, they lasted for 6 days both before and after starting loestrin. Also, I had severe hormonal side effects. I suffered from weight gain, moodiness, and decreased sex drive. Sex would be so painful for me. At first I thought it was just because my body was adjusting to the medicine. But it's been almost a year and I was still experiencing these symptoms. But I may be one of the few who just doesn't respond well to hormonal birth control. I've tried several different hormonal birth control methods, and each time, something jacked up happened to my body. So far, all the symptoms I've ever experienced with hormonal birth control have gone away in a short time once I discontinued it. But that may not be the case next time. So, I've decided there won't be a next time. I've already scheduled an appointment with my doctor to be switched to a non-hormonal form of birth control.
