It's creative, that's what life is all about...if noone ever overexhagerated or made something up...life would be plain, dull, boring..who cares if it is construed as a lie...thats reality...a life revolved around what is, what isnt and what "possibly could be"..

Depends on what you do with the made up story.
If you mean to mislead someone, it is a lie. If you want to spare someone pain, emotional or physiological, it could be a white lie.
If you are making it up to write a fictional story, it is not a lie.
