I believe what makes a good friend is mostly importantly the ability to have fun. A good friend must be honest with you (ie: if you have something in your teeth, a chip on your chest, underwear sticking out, messed up hair... etc) A good friend must have a sense of humour (ie: be able to make you laugh so hard whatever you were drinking comes out your nose) so that when you are out having fun and doing girly things you can laugh and smile. A friend shouldn't lie or betray you in any way. A good friend must be supportive and encouraging and helpful - not judgmental and anal. A good friend should never gossip or make up rumors about you. A good friend should be able to keep a secret even if it's little and stupid and doesn't seem important to them because they know it's important to you. Everyone has friends in their life but every person should at least have one really good friend they are able to confide in and trust 100%. What is a friend? A true friend is someone that will always be there for you, in times of need and NEVER let you down, no matter what. A true friend will be able to help you out with whatever you need without asking for something in return. My only advice is that you must choose your friends carefully, and you will know who they are in times of need. The longer that you’ve known a person, the better the friendship blossoms. Nothing is ever too much trouble for a true friend and you will never fall out over silly disagreements. I think trust is the most important thing in a friendship, and without it you have nothing. Let’s face it where would we be without our friends.
P.S. Alot of people try to pretend or seem to be a good friend but sometimes they only want something from you.

The qualities that I look for in a good friend is a good personality, ability to make me laugh, someone who is kind and considerate of my needs and who will listen to my problems if I need to offload them. Maybe to advise if they can.

Also to hang around with most of the time, go shopping etc.

I'm an italian girl..i live near bergamo (milano) and i think that a good friend should be always honest but not only this...he always must be if same and to know always help you and to understand to you..and he doesn't have to abandon to you in the difficult moments...I have had a very bad experience not much time ago..Excuse if the English isn't perfect but the important is understand because the friendship is a universal feeling..bye glo

a friend is some one who is there for you no matter what thick and thin. someone you trust, care about, love, someone who tells you the truth even though truth hurts sometimes. friends should always have each others best intentions for each other. cry together laugh together get mad and forgive each other. friends never tell secrets or go behind there back.
