I've gotta say the Yankees. That new pitcher will be interesting to watch for Boston, but as a team they're aging in a lot of areas. Manny's not as consistent as he was and is injury-prone.....
I actually think dealing Sheffield to Detroit was a good move for New York, he's nearing 40 and not the player that he used to be. He always causes problems in the clubhouse, too.
Top to bottom, I just think the Yankees are stronger.

Between the Yankees or Sox, I would say whoever gets Clemens. But if Clemens doesn't come back then I think the Yankees have the better team, despite Boston getting Dice-K.

What or Who?
I think that whichever team has the best starting rotation in the AL East will win. While in the NL, I think the team that hits the ball over the fence most often will win.
Which means Red Sox and Phillies. New York teams are on notice.

It's a crap shoot, depending entirely on the Boston pitching. If Boston's starters are dominant, they can put it away. If they struggle, the Yankees can take the pennant. Somewhere in the middle? Well, then we have a race on our hands.

Probably Boston. Yankees pitching is suspect. But do not count out Toronto.

I think the Yankees will win it. They have been winning the A.L. east since 1998.

I have to go with Philadelphia.
The question only asks for "east". It doesn't specify AL or NL, so I went NL.
