The Scream trilogy are my all time favorite horror movies. While they're not really what I consider scary, the plots are great, the acting is great, and each one left me wanting another one. It's too bad there won't be a fourth.

I liked the Scream trilogy. I thought that it was rather well thought out, even though they never actually planned to do the sequels. (Back to the Future was the same way -- they didn't plan to make it a trilogy until they decided to film the second movie.) Although most people don't realize it, Scream was actually supposed to be a semi-spoof on the horror genre (and then they made Scary Movie to spoof that?) and it worked great. It had just the right balance of comedy and humor to make it a great movie. The second one was well thought out because it had to be done well so it could tie the first into the third.
My only problem with any of the trilogy was that Sarah Michelle Gellar was one of the first billed on the movie, but she actually didn't play much of a part in it. She died early on, but they put her name on the first bill because they knew it would help sell the movie. Other than that, I liked the entire trilogy. I own it on DVD and watch it every now and then.
This of course, is an opinionated question and answer, so there really is no right or wrong answer.

I enjoyed them. The first is what I would consider a classic, even though everybody loves to make fun of it. It has been the basis for dozens of spinoffs and while it may not be that scary anymore, it's still a fun movie to watch every once in awhile. As for Scream 2, the movie was not so great, but I still give it some credit for the awesome death scene in the beginning with Jada Pinkett Smith. Scream 3 I actually enjoyed the most of the trilogy, just because the characters are funny and the detective is really cute!

Just like any other recent trilogy i can think of...
First movie is a classic.
Second decent but not great(curse of all sequels)
Third was a waste of time, supposed to have big twists and turns but lacks content and can easily be solved before the mid-way point of the film.
